Revathy C Varma, grand daughter of Vayalar Rama Varma (legendary poet of Malayalam), is an upcoming dancer and choreographer. She had her Post graduate Diploma in Bharathanatyam from Kalakshethra Chennai.

She had her first lessons of dance from Kalamandalam Premaletha, Palakkad, during 2000-2002.

She joined at Kalakshetra, Chennai, the renowned institution of fine arts for her diploma course in Bharathanatyam in 2004. She had undergone a rigorous course in Bharatrhanatyam along with training in “abhinaya” (acting), Karnatic vocal as well as kadhakali at Kalakshetra Foundation.  As part of diploma studies, she had completed projects on “Dhooliechithram of South India” and “Comparative study of Architectural Elements of Temples namely ‘Thiruvanmiyur Marutheeswaran Koi’l and ‘Thiruvatriyur Thyagaraja Koil’”. After completing diploma in Bharathanatyam, Revathy continued her Post Diploma studies at the same institution during 2008-2010. The short term project on “Usage of Aagamic Rituals in Dance” has been completed as part of post diploma course. Her special topic on choreographic studies was “Sahithyam (Literal) Analysis of Choodamanipradanam of epic Ramayanam”. Revathy completed her post diploma with highest marks in choreography as well as Natyasasthram (dance theory).
Revathy is fortunate enough that she could perform studies under veteran gurus Miss. Leela Samson (Director, Kalakshethra), Shri. Adayar K. Lekshman, Shri. Shijith Krishna, Smt. Nandini Nagraj, Mrs. Ganga Thampi, Shri. Sooryanarayanamoorthy and Miss. Lakshya.

Abhinaya classes of Shri C.K. Balagopalan and Mrs. Braga Bassel helped her to mould the dancer within.

Revathy had participated in various Dance Drama presentations at important cities of the country along with Kalakshetra Repetory. She had participated in “Charishnu” – A Jugalbandi of Bharathnatyam, Manipuri, Odiessy, Kadhak, Kadhakali and Mohiniyattam – choreographed by Miss. Leela Samson.
